Rumours of a clash between the two had started surfacing when Shahrukh’s IPL franchise - the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) - decided not to avail the services of their former skipper Ganguly as they rebuilt the team at the last auction. Though Shahrukh has always maintained that he wished Ganguly success in whatever he may choose to do next, Sourav has had very little to say about the subject.
Now Sourav Ganguly has spoken up, "Shah Rukh is just like my elder brother and he will remain so," says Sourav. He clarifies that he does not know where the stories about a cold war come from, and that the stories are wrong.
"I don't know from where these false stories of clash between me and Shah Rukh have come up. There is no such thing. It is totally wrong. Shah Rukh is a good friend of mine and I know him for a long time. KKR is a sensitive and emotional team for me. I want it to win," said Ganguly.
The KKR were strong on the filed in the IPL this season, and gave Shahrukh Khan plenty to cheer about all season long. Sourav made an appearance for the Pune Warriors, but could not do much to change the fortunes of the the bottom placed IPL team. |
